Statement of Faith

This Global Family 24-7 Prayer Statement of Faith is not intended to be a complete statement of our beliefs. However, it does contain common elements of the genuine Christian faith that, in our conviction, believers from any movement, church, or stream would affirm.

Statement of Faith:

We believe the Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God and to be inspired, holy, infallible, and authoritative. The Bible is true!  And we conform to what Scripture says, not the other way around.  When we disagree or do not understand Scripture, we wrestle with it but always come back to affirming the word of God as the Truth!

We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We affirm a Trinitarian understanding of God. We worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah foretold by the prophets, that he was born of a virgin and led a sinless life as a servant to all, performing miracles and revealing the heart of the Father to the world.  He died an atoning death for sin, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father.  He is returning again as king and judge of both the living and the dead.  Yes! We believe the gospel message.

All human beings are sinners and for the salvation of sinful people from death, hell, sin, and their effects, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.  Salvation is made available to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  It becomes ours (personally) through faith. "For by grace you have been saved, through faith..."

We believe that the Church is the community of those who have been brought to new life through Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit.  We are living stones being built together into a spiritual dwelling place for God.

As the people of God, we are called to love one another as Christ loved us.  The Holy Spirit enables us to live a life of humble, powerful, and self-giving love for one another, just as Christ did for us.  Our lives are to be modeled on the life of Jesus—we love one another within the family of God as He loved us and that love flows out from the family of faith to all of humanity.

We believe that God has called, destined, and enabled the Church to have supernatural unity with one another through the ministry of the Holy Spirit in agreement with Jesus’ prayer in John 17:22, “let them [my followers] be one as we [the Father and the Son] are one.”  This is a distinctive emphasis of 10 Days, since we are a "unity movement”.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the one who “raised Jesus from the dead” and now indwells every believer.  The Fruit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit are tangible evidence of His presence in believers.  He is the "Promise of the Father" and has so many good things to bring from heaven to earth.  We honor His presence in the midst of the household of God.  The Holy Spirit is not optional to our lives and our work, but is the one who makes everything possible.  He is our most honored guest.

We believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.  Sexual relationships outside of these boundaries deviate from God’s plan and purpose for righteousness and human flourishing.  Sexual immorality, defined as any sexual relationship outside of the marriage of a man and a woman, is a serious sin and not proper for followers of Jesus.  This is an increasingly unpopular view in culture.  We affirm the historic and biblical truth, while urging restoration in a spirit of gentleness for those who are falling short, knowing that we all are subject to the same temptations.

Heaven and Hell are real places.  We believe in a resurrection of both the saved and lost, the righteous and the wicked; the righteous to a resurrection of eternal life in the presence of God and the others to eternal death.  Not only is there "life after death" in a spiritual sense, our very physical bodies will be resurrected and glorified just as Jesus' body was raised.  God's judgments are perfectly just and righteous and we can be confident that He who sees all things will act accordingly with perfect justice and overflowing mercy. God is good, and there is no darkness or turning of shadow in Him or in His Eternal Kingdom!
